Jersey Knit Dresses

Juniors Dress-Rainbow
NY&CO Ruffle Dress
Braided Belt-Uptown Cheapskate [$2]
Via Neroli Wedges-Belk [$29.99]

Sometimes I get really frustated when I walk in my closet to and see a bunch of knit, solid-colored summer dresses. Don't get me wrong, I love some jersey knit for the summer, but I wish I was a little more daring with color and prints. In an effort to step outside the box I try to add accessories that will make each dress stand out a little bit. I guess even a true fashionista has days were they just feel "blah and boring".

1 Scarf, 3 Looks

Here's another edition of 1 Scarf, 3 Looks featuring a Bold Flower Bloom Scarf I purchased from NY&CO a few weeks ago along with a few new items for the spring/summer. If you haven't been in NY&CO lately, now is the time to shop during their NY Is On Sale promotion with up to 70% off spring items.

Spring Color Blocking: Blue and Yellow

Outfit 1:
Old Navy Cropped Cardigan - Uptown Cheapskate [$4.99]
NY&Co Yellow Maxi Dress
White Stag (Walmart) Tank
Nine West Tan Purse - Ross [$24.99]

Outfit 2:
INC International Concepts (Macy's) T-shirt - Goodwill [$3.75]
Yellow and Gold Bangles - Forever 21
Merona (Target) Scarf

I receive so many compliments when I wear blue, so I'm not sure if that's what made it my favorite color or my love of Duke Basketball since as far back as I can remember, or the brief love affair with Dallas Cowboys football back in the day. Anyway, blue and yellow are definitely my GO TO colors for the spring! Up until this week, I've only been wearing cobalt blue on my toes (see Manicure and Pedicure). Now that the weather is warming up in NC, I'm finally able to incorporate my favorite color into my everyday wear and I am absolutely loving it! I am also loving the latest addition to my handbag family. I really wanted a Coach, but just couldn't justify the purchase with my birthday and mother's day next month (hint, hint family and friends) so I went with one of my favorite brands, Nine West in a neutral tan color that will compliment the many colors I have planned for the spring and summer.

So funny story, after taking the first few pictures for today's post this morning, I walk in my office and Rhonda compliments me on my outfit, then gasps "But, where is your necklace?" You know you have a good friend when she takes the necklace from around her neck and offers it to you make your outfit fabulous. Thanks Rhonda, she's always looking out!

Finally, I just love how a few accessories can take a simple t-shirt to another level. I found this INC t-shirt at Goodwill brand new (still had the tags on it)! I added a yellow scarf and yellow and gold bangles for a simple weekend look (or blue and gold Friday - Spartan Spirit!).

Work(2)Weekend

Both Pictures:

Multicolored Scarf - Rainbow [2 for $10]

Picture 1:
Bitten Jeans (no longer made, were carried at Steve and Barry's)
Life Stride Black Wedge Flats - Belk
Gold Earrings - Forever 21 [2 for $8]

This is actually a weekend to work look because I wore the first outfit on the weekend before wearing the second look to work. I simply switched out the black t-shirt for black pants and added a bright colored tank with the already colorful cardigan and scarf. I love SPRING!

Work(2)Weekend

This post is a special request from Rhonda, one of my colleagues and good friends at UNC Greensboro. She is quite the fashionista, but refuses to allow me to feature her, so ladies that know Rhonda, please let her know we need her style on IMPR(4L)ess!

So it's the weekend and I know you just want to toss on a t-shirt and some jeans, but do you really have to look like you're headed to tailgate and/or cheer your team on in the big game?

Disclaimer - Sorry fellow Pirates, I don't own an ECU shirt but GO PIRATES! Purple! Gold!

Of course not! Here are some simple looks that can be worn on casual Friday and into the weekend:

UPTOWN CHEAPSKATE - $30 for $15

One of this week's Piedmont Triad Perks is a $30 certificate for $15 at Uptown Cheapskate

Michael Kors Sweater - Uptown Cheapskate $9.99 [$4.20]
Gap Bootleg Dark Denim Jeans [FREE]
Aerosole Brown Flats [purchased a few years ago at Ross]

I was out and about a few weeks ago and found this Michael Kors sweater for only $9.99! Imagine my excitement when I found out that I still had a store credit from a previous consignment and everything was an additional 10% off for the weekend bringing my total to just $4.20. The GAP jeans were a gift from one of students at UNCG, who recently interned at VF Jeans, one of the many perks of working in higher education.

Uptown Cheapskate is one of my favorite consignment stores in Greensboro, NC. Not only do they give you a great return on your gently used items, they carry name brands for young professionals that I love like The Limited, NY&CO, and GAP.
