Goodwill Rock The Runway Recap

 3:00 pm
I started my transformation for the Goodwill Rock the Runway Fashion Show with a hair appointment at Leon's Style Salon. I wasn't sure what to expect so I had my hair trimmed by my regular stylist Jodie Briggs earlier in the week. Tosha did an AMAZING job!! She's also natural and located in walking distance from my office at UNCG at the Tate St. location.

4:30 pm
I had just enough time to get my nails done before I had to be at the Elm Street Center. After months of dealing with breaking and brittle nails, I decided to go back to a gel manicure for while. I didn't have time for a full manicure, so I just did a polish change. I totally forget to write down the polish color or brand.

5:30 pm
I arrived at the Elm Street Center and ate a quick dinner provided by Triad Goodwill and Jimmy John's. After mingling with the models, it was time to get dressed and get in line for hair and makeup.

6:30 pm
Backstage was starting to get a little crazy as more models arrived. I almost had a meltdown when I realized I left my body butter at home, but a few of the models came through with lotion and baby oil gel (can't be ashy on the runway, ain't nobody got time for that!). It was crunch time and I finally made it the makeup chair. I told Sam, an esthetician student from Leon's Beauty School, that I wanted lashes the night before. Who knew that I would set a trend, EVERYONE wanted lashes.

9:00 pm- until
After the show is the after party!! After shopping in the Goodwill Willows Boutique, I joined some of the models for drinks and dancing to Sleeping Booty (btw, the band was AWESOME!)

I had a great time and I'm looking forward to Rock the Runway 2014!!
